with a little help from our friends..
Jun 10, 2021On the night of 9th June, violent storms ripped through much of Victoria. Clean-up crews are still hard at work clearing trees, restoring power and internet connections, and helping people salvage what’s left of damaged homes. The Nexans Olex Lilydale factory damage was minor, and we were back online in a few days; it was positive to see everyone come together and support one another through this time.
One of the regions worst hit was the heavily forested Dandenong Ranges east of Melbourne. Businesses and people are still without power which could last another three weeks. Tim Ochse’s wife, Suzanna, helping with food, fuel, and other essential needs, received a request from ADF through the Yarra Valley Emergency Project Manager, Nathan Islip, for extension leads to connect and run the many power generators supplied to residents in the affected area.
Lead by Tim, Nexans Olex purchased 200 extensions leads to help those in need, a small action that has had a significant impact. We wish to thank Tim and Suzanna for leading the initiative in supporting our community.
We are all in this together.
